ACC Preview and Predictions

The ACC has been weak in football as of late. Traditional powers like Florida State and Miami have not been what they were over the last 20 years. They haven't had any success in BCS Bowls, having only one win (Florida State in the 2000 Sugar Bowl) since the series was created. However, it seems that every team in the conference is on a swing towards the better.

Best In-Conference Game
Clemson @ Florida State, Nov. 8: Clemson is led by the dual threat of Spiller and Davis and the laser rocket arm of Cullen Harper, while Florida State has two of the best receivers in the conference (Carr and Parker) and a secondary that gives every QB nightmares. This game may end up deciding the Atlantic Division.

Best Out-of-Conference Game
Florida @ Florida State, Nov. 29: This is the closing game for both teams, and both of them could be in the national title hunt at that time. This intra-state rivalry could change up the entire BCS outlook.

Upset Alert
Duke over North Carolina, Nov. 29: North Carolina is a favorite to win the ACC Coastal Division, and Duke hasn't won a game in the ACC since 2004. So why do I think Duke will win this game? Why do I think Duke will win 6 games? The Blue Devils may not have had much success in their past, but this season should be a turnaround one for Duke. They are returning 17 starters, including their entire front 7. The offense is improving with Thaddeus Lewis under center. The Duke defense is going to surprise some people. North Carolina's young backfield won't be able to get control of the game, and Duke will win by double digits.

What's On Tap For This Blog

I'm a blogger for Naptown's Finest, and the offseason is starting to get to me. I was wondering how I could keep myself interested until training camp starts. This is the fix for football withdrawal. I am predicting the college football and NFL seasons. I may predict some other sports in the winter and spring. I'm not sure. However, I needed a fix for football withdrawal. This was the best that I could come up with.
